Toepassingen Cinnamylalcohol werd gebruikt om de alkylering van 2,4-di-tert-butylfenol door cinnamylalcohol te bestuderen met behulp van aluminium-bevattende mesoporeuze ethaan-silicakatalysator. Het werd gebruikt om gouden nanodeeltjes te bestuderen die werden gedragen op titaandioxide gekatalyseerde oxidatieve koppeling van alcoholen en aminen om de overeenkomstige iminen te vormen.
Gebruik in parfums; als deodorant in 12,5% oplossing in glycerol.
Gebruik cinnamylalcohol komt van nature voor in kaneelschors, het kan ook synthetisch worden vervaardigd. Het wordt in cosmetica gebruikt als geur- of smaakstof.
